11/14/2008 - All South Kids Tournament. On November 1st, 2008, JKA of Ponchatoula in Lousiana hosted an annual open tournament, All South Kids Karate Championships. There were 90 competitors from 5 different states, and everyone competed under great spirit and respect. The tournamnet results are posted here. JKA of Ponchatoula greatly thanks everyone who supported the tournament.

The ALL SOUTH KARATE FEDERATION (ASKF) is composed of Shotokan karate clubs in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. It is the oldest traditional karate organization in the southern United States. The Chief Instructor of ASKF is Sensei Takayuki Mikami, 8th dan black belt (JKA hachi dan), who founded the federation in 1965. Mr. Mikami, a native of Japan, was the first certified instructor sent overseas by the Japan Karate Association (JKA).
